V-Day is a global movement to stop violence and oppression against women and girls.
V-Day is a day on or around Valentine's Day during which annual theatrical events and artistic projects are produced around the world to raise money and transform consciousness. Since much of the violence against women occurs around the vagina in the form of sexual abuse, rape, incest, and genital mutilation, bringing the word vagina into common usage allows us to openly address these terrible issues.

V-Day Ukiah 2002 featured a performance of Eve Ensler's play, "The Vagina Monologues" on Friday, February 8 at Mendocino College. 39 local girls and women, ages 8 to 90, presented this powerful material; proceeds from the play benefited Project Sanctuary and RAWA, the Revolutionary Association of Women of Afghanistan.
